Post Christmas, Pre New year: my thoughts on this magical gap

Post Christmas, Pre New year

So now we're in that intriguing gap between Christmas and new year. Nobody's working, everybody (with a brain) is drinking heavily. So what is this period?

Personally, it's my fucking heaven =]

Post christmas, everyone's still high on christmas spirit, full of turkey and booze. Generally full of good will. To further this grandiose affect, everybody has new years eve to look forward to, the annual binge.

This time of year brings out the best in people, and by the best, i mean the beast.

This gap provokes everyone to indulge, to go to an excess unseen all year round. It's at this time of year we see the true nature of the people around us.

As though a roman orgy were on the horizon, everyone's lining their stomachs, prepping their liver and kidneys. And scraping penny's for the anarchy that is new years eve.

So to everybody, i say go for it! Save, prepare, for new years comes but once a year (funnily enough....) and it's the best dam night of the year.

Shame we have to wait so long!

p.s. No i don't blog about christmas, i don't see the point. Food, booze, turkey etc. Nothing special!

Ho Ho Ho, christmas time again.

Ho Ho Ho, and the like.

What up folks.

It's been a while, and i apologise. I'll rationalise shortly.

But first. This weeks topic will be...

*cue intense music*

Christmas Spirit!!

So yeah, The lack of postage.

I've been thoroughly bogged down with uni work, assignments and the like. Finding time to carelessly blog my thoughts and musings has been rather... limited of late. BUT. S'all good now :)

So yeah, todays topic of choice is christmas spirit. Or lack thereof.

I've never been considered the most spirited person (seriously... I'm the grinch). But this christmas there seems to be a certain malaise spreading through my family. Nobody's bothered, or trying. This annoys me.

The reason i don't need to be so festive is because my family usually has enough festiveness (it's a word...) for everyone. But this year it seems i've been forced to step up to the plate.

And god damn if i didn't do it well.

The house is decorated and everything. Mixed with the buzz i'm working on (MY christmas tradition) it almost feels magical in here.

So what's your take on christmas, christmas spirit, and other related phenomena? Let's discuss!

Class dismissed elven folk.
